Event Description

I am starting up our book club again. This time though with a firm iron fist rule. ;) The first book we would be reading is Where Do Demon's Live? by Frater U.D. Next Millennium has it on hand I believe and suggest going there first. If Charlie is out of course there is amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Where-Do-Demons-Live-Everything/dp/0738714798/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357356041&sr=8-1&keywords=where+do+demons+live

This book is set up in Dear Abby style for occultist to ask questions that we all need to keep asking ourselves throughout our personal searches. Please join me in learning all the world of words has to offer. I hope you are as excited to join me in this as I am to get this restarted. The first book discussion will be held at my house (as of now) on Sunday Feb 24th. Location may change if everyone likes coffee!

Presto,

Thank you for your feedback. I understand where you stand, and appreciate your explanation. I agree yes there are other books out there similar (Ask Baba Lon per example), but really that's the only I was aware of. I get your explanations, but don't necessarily agree with them. I wish you could have attended to say why the chapters didn't reach you & what topics seemed to have bored you. I always enjoy having opposite views in attendance. Also, just for future reference the books we are starting with are basic building blocks. It's the only place to start as a group. Once we get into advanced topics it will be in the titles and book description on the events.

Lady Sova, I do not deem the book to be completely useless. I deem the book to be completely useless to me. I called it rubbish because the methods the author employed have been used by a couple of other authors. I said the book is pure rubbish because it is a break me down. Of other books, that are far more potent and in-depth. I perceive, that this author. Alike to many other authors simply took what others before him have said and projected it into this book. What I am saying is, he doesn't manifest enough original material. But anyone that hasn't read the specific books that I have read. Might find it to be one of the greatest reads they have ever experienced! Somewhere in that book, I swear he said something about getting rich so he could further pursue his aspirations. But maybe I am mistaken; I refuse to read it again. Maybe he said something along those lines somewhere.

It's like movies, a lot of movies if you watch enough of them. Are just repeats of previous movies. Then eventually someone comes out with something original and you can honestly tell that the producer really put some thought into it. Well I've read enough books, that I now experience the same phenomenon with books. I read books and a lot of them are repeats of what others have already said. But every once in a while I come across a book that is truly original. I can really tell the author is trying to create something new, not just imitate.

Everyone is in a different playing field. I have already played around in this field. It's irrelevant to me. Non Serviam, deserving or undeserving, will depend entirely on the individual and there circumstance.

huh. I never thought of using amazon for practical needs. interesting. The book club is a different book each time. I am still deciding on the next date, and then a new event will be published with the information. I am thinking one book every two months or so. That way it gives time for people buy and read.

also, by the next date i should be able to make it, depending on my husband's schedule for monday. if not, then g+ or skype, either one would work! will it be the same book or a new book every month?

amazon prime has already paid for itself in shipping, plus you get all kinds of other perks though i have yet to delve into them - borrowing from the kindle library, free movies or tv shows occasionally, plus of course free 2 day shipping on a bunch of different stuff. though when i bought my textbooks, it was cheaper to pay the shipping than to pay the prime price ^^ particularly the ones that were available used. i got a $30 book for $4, when the prime price was $22 ^^  but i almost never go to the grocery store and order a lot of our food staples in bulk online, so having prime helps a lot when you know you have only got 2 more days of toilet paper left in the house and you don't want to wander through a gigantic midwest grocery store haha

Ouch sorry about the surgery :/ Yes I have tried google + hangout but I also know quite a few people don't use it. I have one though if you want to join in next time if you aren't fully healed. Also let me know how you like Amazon prime I am really curious about it.

oh i actually just saw the skype comment below. have you ever tried google hangouts? it's like the group skype but more efficient and free. we used to use them to hang out online when people ended up in different states for work, it's pretty good. i'd be willing to join on a hangout! but i don't have the book yet :[

It's ok Preston everyone can have their opinion, but I would love to hear the whys behind your comment. What makes you think it's rubbish? I myself think it's great because it doesn't "tell" you the answers the whole time, but forces one to think. I have run into so many occultists who never sit back and just go why? So if you would be so kind to really share a thorough and constructive review to why you found it completely useless I would appreciate it. :)

Well Preston, it is a 101 book and therefore a lot is going to be repeat content, the gem of this book is the subjects addressed, things most 101's either skip over or address poorly. Granted it's opinion, so it certainly demands a grain of salt, I think calling a book like this rubbish is a bit undeserving.
